Gelato is low fat gourmet Italian ice cream.
It has a much more intense flavor than regular ice cream,
with a creamier texture and lower air content.
Via Dolce gelato is made fresh daily in East Brunswick,
using the freshest and finest ingredients imported directly from Italy.
Gelato is not only considered a dessert treat,
but as a replacement for the traditional meal.
Since its creation in the 16th century, two forms of gelato have been produced. In Tuscany, gelato was made with milk, sugar, and other natural ingredients. In Sicily, gelato was produced using water, fresh fruit, and sugar. Via Dolce Cafe & Gelateria offers a line of products from both areas of Italy, as well as newly developed sugar-free and fat-free lines.
In recent years, the demand for gelato has spread throughout the world.
